What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for delivering improvement projects at the Plant, with a focus on increasing plant reliability and output. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from implementation through execution to final completion.
This position requires the ability to work at a fast pace, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including site teams and central support functions.
Summary of key responsibilities:
- Manage assigned multi-discipline projects from implementation through to completion.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor all project activities.
- Coordinate project activities, assess risks to plant operations, and advise the site management team of any potential impacts.
- Contribute to the design phase by identifying and raising operational concerns with proposed designs.
- Work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery, producing accurate weekly and monthly project status reports.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients to understand and meet their requirements.
- Maintain quality control across all aspects of the project, including planning, scheduling, budget control, team performance, and execution.
- Monitor compliance across all project activities.
- Review engineering tasks and initiate corrective actions where required
- You must adhere to and be compliant with all Company Policies & Procedures (including but not limited to) those specified in the Employment Handbook, H&S Policy, EMS System, IMS System, Management Guide and any financial/accounting systems
- Apart from the duties summarised in your role profile, the company reserve the right to include other reasonable duties which are part of, and incidental to, this type of work
Qualifications & Knowledge to succeed:
- Engineering degree / HND / HNC or equivalent qualifications & experience with experience of engineering planning in a power generation/engineering/manufacturing environment.
- A good understanding of all HSE aspects is a fundamental requirement, with IOSH Managing Safely a preferred requirement.
- Demonstrable engineering experience within a maintenance or operational role.
- Experience and understanding of project management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement.
- Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated, flexible and committed attitude.
- Budget management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

This role is a full-time role contracted for 40 hours per week.
Some occasional and ad-hoc national travel may be required.
