Due to a steadily increasing workload, SLR Consulting Ireland (SLR) currently has an opportunity within our Dublin office for an enthusiastic and motivated graduate consultant to join our environmental team. Given the diverse nature of SLR’s business, the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience and work across multiple environmental science disciplines within SLR.
This position is ideal for someone who is keen to develop their skills and knowledge in environmental management and looking to become a professional, chartered environmental scientist. The successful candidate will be able to avail of on-the-job training from our team of industry professionals and will receive full support in working towards professional chartered status. This position presents an excellent opportunity to join an experienced team of environmental specialists, supported by a multidisciplinary range of experts in the field of Environmental Assessment including air quality, noise, land quality, hydrogeology, hydrology, process engineering, process safety and more.
Whilst the position would suit a graduate seeking their first professional role, we would also be happy to hear from candidates who have already gained some post-graduate experience in a commercial environment in a comparable role.
The Role:
With support from senior colleagues, initial duties and responsibilities will include:
- Environmental baseline and compliance monitoring / surveys including air quality, noise, soil quality and surface water & groundwater flow / quality;
- Assisting with environmental reporting and audits;
- Laboratory work for air quality;
- Assisting with environmental impact assessments including the preparation of air quality, climate and noise impact assessments for environmental impact assessment reports(EIAR).
The role will involve undertaking site-based work throughout Ireland, which may include working away from home for short periods (including occasional night-time and weekend hours) and attending Client sites and meetings, as required.
While SLR offers the opportunity for agile working it is envisaged that this role would require regular attendance in SLR’s Dublin office, and the use of laboratory facilities at the office.
