Project Finance (Renewable & Infrastructure) Credit Analyst H/F/X

Responsibilities

The Credit Analyst reports functionally to the Credit Manager of Regional Real Asset Infrastructure APAC with the following responsibilities:

Credit Risk Monitoring: Oversee real asset and infrastructure credit exposures, ensuring adherence to EBA guidelines with a strong focus on ESG factors.

Active Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive credit reviews, handle amendments and waiver requests effectively

Obligor Ratings & Limits: Review and propose internal ratings for obligors, monitoring concentration levels to mitigate risk.

Documentation & Covenant Review: Analyze loan documentation, legal contracts, and financial statements, ensuring compliance with all covenants and project reporting requirements.

Project Analysis: Evaluate the construction progress and operational performance of financed assets, conducting sensitivity analyses on budgets and financial models.

Portfolio Oversight: Monitor portfolios actively for early warning signals, proposing actionable solutions where needed. Manage watchlist clients and associated provisions.

Market Assessment: Identify industry trends and assess country, market, and environmental risks to inform strategic decisions

Collaboration: Work closely with Origination teams, Sector Heads, Portfolio Managers, and Trading/Distribution to facilitate client business development, as well as external contacts (e.g. borrowers, facility agents, advisers etc)

Ad Hoc Reporting: Undertake various tasks and reports as requested, contributing to the organization's strategic objectives

Compliance Adherence: Ensure full compliance with RISQ and CPLE guidelines throughout all business activities.

Profile required

Academic Background and Certifications, Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Law, Accounting, Science or Engineering. Other qualifications may be considered subject to demonstrating genuine interest in Finance and relevant experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience in structured finance
  • Strong risk analysis and understanding of all structuring issues relevant for structured finance during loan’s life including risk monitoring, provisioning and work out.
  • Strong fluency in financial analysis, modelling and review of legal documents.
  • Strong understanding of trends in the sectors covered within APAC.
  • Deep knowledge of the internal procedures and regulatory compliance coupled with a good understanding of conduct & culture values and general strategy of Societe Generale.

Department Description

Credit Portfolio Management (CPM) works with the Global Banking and Advisory (GLBA) platform to structure private debt to service the needs of our clients through risk monitoring and backend execution in line with the overarching ‘Originate to Distribute’ strategy. CPM provides coverage over various sectors including energy, metals and mining and infrastructure. We are currently recruiting a Project Finance (Renewable & Infrastructure) Credit Analyst to join our team in Sydney, Australia.
