THE JOB: Project Manager, Practice Transformation

The starting salary range falls within the minimum to mid-point of the salary range.

Starting Salary Range: $80,067 - $100,084

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Practice Transformation, the Project Manager, Practice Transformation is responsible for the creation and development of a clear project plan (and associated change management and communication plans), as well as managing and monitoring timelines, schedules, resources and project reports for defined bodies of work focusing on practice support tools and resources. By accurately defining project scope and determining available resources, the Project Manager develops and executes on clear, straightforward plans enabling project teams to reach their full potential.

The Project Manager coordinates with cross discipline teams to ensure all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines and schedules, and conducts post project evaluation to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements in order to effectively support business outcomes. The Project Manager also supports the development and delivery of associated training and orientation materials in alignment with the project and may support ongoing operational activities.

The Project Manager works with the PT Management team and partners to define scope and leads applicable projects, undertaking all aspects of the planning process. Additionally, the Project Manager maintains and manages detailed plans throughout the project life cycle, takes account of dependencies, and captures and translates business requirements effectively, acting as a conduit to various stakeholders. The Project Manager will play a vital role in linking together needs and resources within a multi partnered environment.

  • Debates opinions, tests understanding, and clarifies judgments.
  • Brings conflict into the open empathetically. Explains the context of multiple interrelated situations, asks searching, probing questions, and solicits expert advice prior to taking action and making recommendations.

  • Seeks referrals from others with relevant expertise and influence.
  • Attends and maintains relationships with relevant formal and informal professional groups and organizations

  • Diagnoses problems using formal problem-solving tools and techniques from multiple angles and probes underlying issues to generate multiple potential solutions.
  • Proactively anticipates and prevents problems.
  • Devises, facilitates buy-in, makes recommendations, and guides implementation of corrective and/or preventive actions for complex issues that cross organizational boundaries and are unclear in nature.
  • Identifies potential consequences and risk levels. Seeks support and buy-in for problem definition, methods of resolution, and accountability.

Organizational Awareness (A):

  • Recognizes external factors and changing organizational goals that will affect current projects and successfully adjusts the team’s work efforts in accordance with these changes.
  • Provides guidance to others on team-specific processes and terminology.
  • Collaborates with other teams to establish consistent standards and processes in alignment with the organizational strategy.
  • Analyses existing and evolving standards to improve the consistency of efforts across teams and the organization.
  • Anticipates external trends that will impact teams within the organization or the organization as a whole, and supports the planning process to address these changes.

Strategic Thinking (A):

  • Identifies and considers emerging development opportunities and risks when articulating new options and recommendations.
  • Maintains a broad, strategic perspective while identifying and focusing on crucial details.
  • Analyzes project inputs from various elements (e.g., budgetary, technical, compliance, policy) and correctly prioritizes issues and solutions in support of goal accomplishment.
  • Conceives likely scenarios and recommends effective courses of action to others.
  • Integrates input from sophisticated models and tools to predict outcomes and identify issues that may not be obvious to others.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and/or recognized professional designation in related field, and up to six years of progressive and related experience or an equivalent level of related work experience in lieu of post-secondary education.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Solid understanding of the BC healthcare system
  • Experience working on projects related to use of health technology in practice (e.g. electronic medical record, virtual care platforms, and health informatics) an asset
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills; solid judgment; critical thinking skills; a sense of teamwork and community; ability to handle multiple tasks; highly organized.
  • Project and budget management experience, including experience with planning, evaluation, performance measurement, and change management strategies.
  • Excellent attention to detail with demonstrated project management, change management, and document management skills.
  • Advanced computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficiency with project management software.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently as well as in a team environment along with excellent writing skills and proven ability to develop clear, concise and comprehensive written reports.
  • Experience working with multi stakeholder initiatives and demonstrated experience working in dynamic, and iterative environments.
