Votre mission:
The Project Manager (PM) for ISDN/PSTN to SIP Transition will be responsible for leading and managing the global migration from legacy telephony systems (ISDN/PSTN) to modern SIP-based solutions.
This role requires expertise in telecommunications, VoIP, SIP trunking, and infrastructure transformation while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
The selected candidate must have proven experience in telecom transition projects, including vendor coordination, regulatory compliance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
The PM will work closely with network engineers, telecom providers, business units, and IT teams to execute a phased migration strategy.

A. Project Management Competencies
The PM must be able to manage large-scale telecommunications projects in an enterprise environment. Essential competencies include:
- Project Planning & Execution – Developing structured migration plans, defining timelines, and tracking deliverables.
- Risk & Change Management – Identifying potential risks (e.g., service disruptions, regulatory hurdles) and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Management – Collaborating with telecom providers, internal IT teams, and business leaders to align migration objectives.
- Budget & Cost Management – Managing transition costs, optimizing telecom spend, and ensuring ROI on SIP solutions.
- Procurement & Vendor Management – Overseeing RFPs, selecting SIP trunking providers, and negotiating contracts.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting – Tracking migration KPIs, maintaining compliance, and reporting progress to senior management.
- Telecom Transition Methodologies – Understanding best practices for legacy decommissioning, number porting, and SIP network architecture.
B. Telecommunications & VoIP Knowledge
The PM must have a strong technical understanding of legacy telephony systems and modern SIP-based communication solutions, including:
- ISDN/PSTN Decommissioning – Understanding the phase-out of E1/T1 lines, analog circuits, and copper-based telephony.
- SIP Trunking & VoIP Architecture – Overseeing the implementation of SIP trunks, SBCs (Session Border Controllers), and VoIP gateways.
- Cloud & On-Premise Telephony Integration – Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Phone, Cisco Webex Calling, Zoom Phone, and on-prem PBX systems.
- Number Portability & Routing – Ensuring smooth number migration and call routing between old and new systems.
- Regulatory & Compliance Frameworks – Ensuring adherence to local telecom regulations, emergency calling (E911, E112), and lawful intercept requirements.
- Network Readiness for VoIP – Collaborating with network teams to assess QoS, latency, jitter, and bandwidth requirements for SIP-based communication.
C. Security & Resilience Management
The PM must ensure that the transition maintains high levels of security, availability, and disaster recovery capabilities, including:
- SIP Security Best Practices – Implementing TLS encryption, SRTP, and firewall rules for SIP traffic.
- DDoS & Fraud Prevention – Protecting SIP trunks from VoIP toll fraud, denial-of-service attacks, and unauthorized access.
- High Availability & Failover Strategies – Designing redundant SIP trunking architectures with failover mechanisms.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Planning – Ensuring alternative communication paths during outages.
Minimum Requirements :
A. Professional Experience
- At least 7-10 years of experience in telecommunications project management.
- Hands-on experience with PSTN/ISDN phase-out, SIP trunking deployment, and VoIP transformation projects.
- Experience working with global telecom providers, regulatory bodies, and enterprise IT teams.
- Demonstrated ability to migrate large-scale telephony infrastructures across multiple geographies.
B. Educational Background & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile PM) is highly desirable.
Certifications in relevant telecom domains are a strong asset, including: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Collaboration
Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer Associate
SIP School Certified Associate (SSCA)
Avaya, Mitel, or other PBX certifications
C. Language & Communication Skills
Fluent in English and French – both written and spoken.- Strong ability to translate technical telecom concepts into business terms for executives and stakeholders.
