Job Summary:

The Project Manager for Smart and Safe City will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of innovative smart city initiatives that aim to enhance urban infrastructure, safety, sustainability, and the overall quality of life for residents. This role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, managing project timelines and budgets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborating with stakeholders such as government agencies, technology vendors, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Management:
  • Develop and implement project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resources required.
  • Establish and manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets and deadlines are met.
  • Lead the project lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring efficient delivery and high-quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Engage with government agencies, local authorities, private sector partners, and the community to gather requirements and ensure alignment with smart city goals.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders and provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and milestones.
  • Technology Integration:
  • Collaborate with technical teams to integrate cutting-edge technologies such as IoT, AI, and data analytics into city infrastructure for smart traffic management, public safety, energy efficiency, and waste management.
  • Ensure seamless implementation and operationalization of technology solutions while managing the technical aspects of the project.
  • Risk and Issue Management:
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing project disruptions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential delays or obstacles.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Ensure that all smart city initiatives meet regulatory standards, safety protocols, and environmental sustainability goals.
  • Oversee quality control processes and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Lead and motivate a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, urban planners, and other professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting teamwork, problem-solving, and knowledge sharing.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, status updates, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Document project milestones, deliverables, lessons learned, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in smart city technology, urban planning, and safety innovations.
  • Provide insights for future smart city projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree or professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record in delivering large-scale urban development or smart city projects.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, machine learning, and data analytics in the context of smart cities.
  • Experience managing interdisciplinary teams and collaborating with government agencies and private sector partners.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Jira).
  • Knowledge of smart city frameworks, urban mobility solutions, safety protocols, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Knowledge of smart city standards, sustainability frameworks, and the latest industry innovations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and evolving urban development trends.
  • Experience with community engagement and public relations related to smart city initiatives.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,300,000.00 per year
