We are now looking for a

Project manager, superconducting quantum pilot line

to join our Microelectronics and Quantum technology research area to act as the project manager for the European Chips JU SUPREME quantum pilot line that VTT is coordinating.

As a project manager, superconducting quantum pilot line, your primary responsibility will be to lead the superconducting quantum pilot line project to ensure it meets the goals, ambitions, milestones, budget and schedule. The work includes coordination and collaboration with the consortium partners. In addition, you will interact with Chips JU, the other pilot line projects, as well as the wider European quantum community. You will work in close collaboration with the coordinator and project team within VTT, and the entire consortium in Europe, to ensure that targets are met.

Microelectronics and quantum technology research area focuses on developing new microelectronics materials, devices and integration methods to power future digital systems and technologies to scaling up quantum computers and systems. You will be responsible for:

• Leading the superconducting quantum pilot line project and the project team of around 100 persons.
• Managing project throughout the entire execution, ensuring scope, budget and timeline are met.
• Taking responsibility of project deliverables, project monitoring and project reporting.
• Ensuring project quality standards are met.
• Promoting the pilot line and services at national and international events.
• Creating and nurturing national and international collaboration networks with significant impact.
• Creating collaboration and partnership agreements and summarizing IP offering
• Participating in preparing new offering and projects.

Your profile and experience:

• Understanding the quantum technology, industry and applications. Understanding of the future development of the field, market needs and global trends.
• You have several years’ (5+) project management experience in demanding technology projects.
• Preferably experience in coordinating or managing large EU projects.
• M. Sc. or Ph.D. in relevant field.
• You have several years of experience in hardware R&D type of work, preferably in the field of quantum technologies (preferably superconducting/semiconductor/cryogenics or adjacent deep-tech).
• Willingness to travel especially within Europe.
• Professional English language skills (spoken and written). Finnish language is an asset.

Nice to have:

• Experience of working closely with customers with demanding requirements for quality and traceability is considered a plus.
• Hands-on with EU GA/CA governance, Funding & Tenders/SYGMA portals, DMP, ethics, dissemination & exploitation, etc.
• Exposure to quality and traceability frameworks in microelectronics/manufacturing
• Professional certifications (IPMA C/B) or equivalent practice.
