The Project Manager is responsible for managing and delivering DYWIDAG’s projects in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. This shall be accomplished by utilizing your technical competence and acumen along with strong communication capabilities to deliver projects on time and within budget. Results shall be measured in the form of safe, profitable work, ensuring contractual obligations are met and customer satisfaction is achieved. The work performed will include fabrication and supply of DYWIDAG’s products and services. Most products and services are supplied for heavy civil and commercial infrastructure markets.
The Project Manager would be assigned to a job in Surrey, BC in the Vancouver area called the Skytrain project. It is an extension of an existing light rail facility for the Surrey to Langley area. The Project Manager would be solely responsible for this project.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead, manage, coordinate, and direct any assigned project.
- Work collaboratively with the Team to ensure clear accountability and a coordinated approach
is in place for all clients and internal teams - Provide customer service while always remaining courteous and responding promptly to
requests. - Build strong relationship with external clients, customers, engineers, vendors, and operational
team members. - Manage the financial aspects of all assigned projects to ensure they meet or exceed budget
expectations. - Use Navision to ensure proper Job Progress Report management on regular basis and to
facilitate monthly financial reporting. - Continuous hands-on understanding of the DYWIDAG target market and competitor landscape,
identifying risks and opportunities through talking to clients during project execution. - Attend industry functions such as events, conferences and exhibitions when needed.
- Develop, communicate, and implement project handoff and operational plans for assigned
projects. - Review manufacturing drawings and instructions.
- Coordination of customer’s equipment needs with equipment department.
- Seek opportunities to improve efficiency and contribute to overall success of the Company.
- Work with Quality Control and Production Staff regarding acceptability of parts substitutions
and manufacturing tolerances for systems and applications, production capabilities,
manufacturing schedules, and production costs. - Work collaboratively with marketing partner to assist with marketing campaigns, collateral,
project reports, social media postings, etc. as needed. - Maintain up to date, in depth knowledge of DYWIDAG products and services.
Assist in resolving filed performance, collections, and other customer satisfaction issues as
needed. - Read and understand construction contracts of varying types and manage DYWIDAG projects
to meet the contractual terms as required. - Prepare cost estimates as required to support sales and business development efforts for
labor and material quotes. - Perform due diligence in acquiring material and service pricing to ensure that DYWIDAG
receives the best possible and most competitive 3rd party pricing. - Prepare completed estimates for assigned for assigned projects for presentation to DYWIDAG
business development and management team. - Manage the preparation and submittal of shop drawings, work plans and any other technical
project submittals. - Actively participate and work with CRM tool. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of Project Manager experience or equivalent field experience required.
Knowledge of Anchored Earth Retention, Foundation Construction or Post-Tensioning as an
asset. - Ability to read engineering drawing and specifications.
- Experienced with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. Fluency in English

- Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate long-term relationships with clients and DYWIDAG team
members and ability to network internally within DYWIDAG. - Ability to write, think and speak technically. A strong degree of technical acumen.
- Ability to listen well and establish rapport to manage successfully using a range of influencing
and negotiating techniques. - Excellent organizational, multitasking and time management skills.
- Knowledge of technical proposal writing, presentation and negotiation techniques,
communication techniques and conflict management. - Experience on civil construction, heavy construction, DOT, bridge construction or similar
construction site experience to be considered for this position. - Working experience with Navision, Microsoft Office, or ability to learn this software quickly
- Able to adapt and succeed in a changing and fast-paced environment with a positive, can-do
attitude. Candidate must best self-starting, efficient, and organized
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Travel is required, as needed, to a variety of construction site environments to make site visits,
sales calls, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, laptop use, etc. Must be able to lift 15 pounds, on occasion.
