AUSactive is the peak body for the exercise and active health industry. As a not-for-profit organisation, we exist to encourage all Australians to engage in physical activity, professionalise the exercise and active health industry through engaging in partnerships, advocacy, delivering education and accreditation.
We're made up of almost 18,000 members, including businesses, professionals and students, 200 CEC providers and 44 quality-accredited businesses who are leading the way in quality service delivery in an industry with over 7 million active consumers.
AUSactive is recognised by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) as the Peak Body for the fitness, exercise and active health sector in Western Australia. As a Peak Body, the DLGSC works closely to support AUSactive to advocate, lead and develop its membership and improve the health and wellbeing of West Australians.
With support of the DLGSC, AUSactive will be delivering the Million Moves program in 2025, which aims to enhance the physical and mental well-being of the Western Australian community through sustained engagement in physical activity. The Project Officer will be integral to the successful delivery of the Million Moves program.
Role: Project Officer
Reporting to: General Manager, WA
Location: Perth, WA
Part-time: 22.8 hours per week
Term: Initial 6-month term (with scope to extend beyond the initial term, to be reviewed within the 6 month period)
Major Responsibilities
- Manage and organise project activities and requirements.
- Provide a range of project management and support services, including:
- Outbound calls to promote Million Moves campaign and secure partnerships/participation
- Manage inbound customer service/support calls/queries
- Support co-ordination and attendance to local AUSactive/partner events where required
- Preparation of reports and briefs
- Coordinating resources
- Maintaining project documentation
- Contributing to the implementation and monitoring of project plans to ensure operational and project deliverables/outcomes are achieved.
- Support risk and issue identification, assessment and mitigation activities by ensuring risks and issues are documented, reviewed and escalated as appropriate.
- Maintain program/project information in accordance with AUSactive regulations and policies.
- Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends, and preparing briefs to support informed decision making and planning.
- Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables.
Role Requirements
- Experience: Several years of experience working in a project administration or project coordination role with a project delivery focus, ideally within the fitness, exercise and active health sector
- Organisational Skills: Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling professional interactions with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using digital tools for administration, communication, and data management, particularly within Microsoft Office suite of applications. Experience with email systems, database management (including Zoho CRM), and calendar tools is desirable.
- Team Player: Enthusiastic about supporting team members and contributing to a positive work environment.
- Multi-tasking: Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, prioritising work efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for accuracy in documents, reports, and administrative tasks
