About you
We are seeking a solution orientated, proactive and adaptable project officer to support our International Programme. The role requires someone who is flexible with great communication skills and able to engage with other people of all levels. The successful candidate will have a non-judgemental and empowering manner who is looking to build on their existing project officer skillset.
About the role
- Fixed term full time and fixed term part time position (24 hours per week) until 30 June 2028
- Base full time salary: $79,740 - $100,952 (salary is based on experience)
Specifically, this role is responsible for project coordination, contributions to monitoring and reporting, delivery of health promotion and Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) - related activities, and clinical training (f appropriate), and supporting relationship management with key internal and external stakeholders, particularly within out cervical cancer projects.
The role sits within the International Programme team. The position may require to Pacific countries as part of Project activities, including after-hours and weekend travel. Working in countries in the Pacific and in low resource settings requires innovation, flexibility, respect, adaptability and resilience.

Skills and Experiences:
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Undergraduate degree in international development, public health or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the health sector in similar roles
- Demonstrated, strong project management skills and experience
- Experience managing multiple projects with competing demands and demonstrated flexibility in adapting effectively to change
- Skills or experience in facilitation and both developing and delivering training
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts across a variety of audiences
- High level of digital literacy, including proficiency in using collaboration tools and ability to locate and evaluate relevant online information.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a cross-cultural environment with awareness and sensitivity
- Ability to travel in the Pacific region
- Must have full permanent working rights in Australia
- Primary nursing degree with current AHPRA registration as a registered nurse or other relevant postgraduate qualification
- Relevant experience implementing multi-stakeholder international health and/or education projects, particularly in the Pacific region
- Skills, knowledge or experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights
- Knowledge of Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles
- A Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check are required prior to commencement in this role
