About the Role

We are looking to appoint a Psychologist to our Renal and Diabetes Services. Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi are working as a collective workforce - Kāhui Mātauranga. We recognise our workforce needs to be skilled, well-informed, able to apply learnings to real situations and to be in touch with their communities and localities.

This is a new position working in teams to develop a strong multi-disciplinary approach to their services. The teams cover Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals, with Tauranga being the major provider of the service.

This is a permanent, part-time position with 0.4FTE (16 hours per week) allocated to Renal services, and 0.1FTE (4 hours per week) allocated to the diabetes service.

About the Location

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 308,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi is one of the Bay of Plenty’s largest employers with over 4500 staff.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a New Zealand Registered Clinical Psychologist with current APC
  • Have postgraduate training in clinical psychology and other relevant training
  • Be able to demonstrate core facilitative skills in interpersonal interaction
  • Hold a current Driver’s Licence
  • Be understanding of others by appreciating cultural differences
  • Willing to be a strong voice for our community/people– Kainga tuturu
