About the Role
A great opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to provide Professional Leadership for the psychology profession here at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawke's Bay.
This leadership position is responsible for Psychology workforce development and liaison with Group Management Teams to ensure high quality patient care and equity focused health outcomes. The successful applicant will be responsible for facilitating consistent standards of practice amongst psychologists, ensuring effective use of evidence based, safe and competent practice and supporting managers across services on issues related to Psychology, innovative practice, care closer to home whilst articulating the value add of the profession in respect of achieving priority system targets.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Psychology Professional Lead will provide advice on workforce and organisational priorities where the role of the Psychologist, would enhance the delivery of effective health services for our population. The role will advise and contribute to policies and care pathways in regards to psychological models of care and treatment.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with other Professional Leaders, Allied Health Leaders, Managers and other related positions across the DHB and the wider health system to support and develop opportunities for Psychologists. You will work with a number of specialists both internally and externally, so you will need the ability to maintain excellent working relationships with these groups of people.
About you
If you feel you have leadership skills and success leading, motivating and developing others together with the drive and enthusiasm to work with our Psychology Team, Group Leadership and Team Leaders then we would like to hear from you.
You will also need the following key attributes and skills:
- It is essential that you hold a Masters Degree in Psychology with a Diploma in Clinical Psychology (or overseas equivalent).
- You will hold a current NZ Registration from the Psychology registration board, with a Clinical Psychology scope and a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
- You will be self-motivated, a strategic thinker,
- an excellent communicator and a team player with commitment to quality, excellence and professional development.
