Walkeys Daycare is looking for a passionate and dedicated dog daycare assistant to join our team. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the wellbeing, safety and happiness of our dogs.

We are looking for a part time doggy day care assistant.

Part Time: Tuesday-Thursday (8am-1pm) additional hours may become available.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Passion for Dogs: Display genuine passion for working with dogs, their well-being, and their development. Show a keen interest in dog behaviour and training to contribute positively to our daycare environment.
• Oversee groups of dogs, including both small and large breeds, to ensure safe and positive interactions. Walk and play with your group.
• Behaviour Monitoring: Continuously monitor dog behaviour to identify signs of stress, anxiety, or overstimulation. Implement appropriate measures to address any behavioural issues that may arise.
• Client Communication: Interact with dog owners, providing them with updates on their pets' activities and behaviours throughout the day. Maintain clear and professional communication to ensure clients have peace of mind.
• General Cleaning: Maintain a clean and hygienic environment for our dogs by regularly cleaning and sanitizing play areas, crates, and common spaces.

The ideal candidate should:

• Prior experience working with dogs in a professional setting, such as a daycare, kennel, or veterinary clinic, to handle various canine personalities effectively. Level 2 qualification in dog care desirable but not essential as this can be provided.
• Apply your basic knowledge of dog behaviour to assess and respond to individual dogs' needs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to interact effectively with both dogs and pet owners, addressing their concerns and questions with professionalism and empathy.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, where you'll need to multitask efficiently to manage multiple dogs and responsibilities simultaneously.
• Hold a full UK driving license and be able to drive a small company van

Once we have found a suitable candidate and after completion of probation they will be required to collect dogs within a certain radius using the companies vehicle.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £11.50-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
