Job Description
Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Long Term Care (LTC) facility. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitation services to residents in a long-term care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of geriatric care and a passion for helping others improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for residents
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and coordination
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to continue rehabilitation outside of therapy sessions
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Valid PTA license in the state of practice
- Previous experience working with geriatric populations preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- CPR certification required
