The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and safety of all hotel public spaces. This role ensures that guests experience a clean, welcoming environment at all times servicing lobbies, corridors, restrooms, meeting areas, and other shared facilities.
About McWilliam Park
The McWilliam Park Hotel is a Failte Ireland approved luxurious four-star hotel. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, making it a popular hotel for celebrating special occasions like weddings or to enjoy a romantic break or family getaway.
The hotel boasts 103 comfortable large sized hotel bedrooms, a leisure club (Evolve Health & Fitness) with a fully equipped gym, an indoor heated swimming pool and children’s pool.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, staircases, restrooms, reception spaces, and event rooms.
- Carry out routine cleaning duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors, furniture, mirrors, and other surfaces.
- Keep outdoor entrance areas tidy, ensuring pathways are clear of litter and debris.
- Conduct regular checks of restrooms throughout your shift to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Restock essential supplies such as soap, hand towels, and toiletries as required.
- Empty waste bins in public areas and replace liners as needed.
- Identify and promptly report or resolve spills, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
- Welcome guests in a friendly manner and assist with directions or basic inquiries when needed.
- Address guest concerns courteously and escalate issues to the appropriate supervisor when necessary.
- Adhere to all safety, hygiene, and chemical handling guidelines.
- Display appropriate warning signs (e.g., “Wet Floor” or “Cleaning in Progress”) when carrying out duties.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety risks, or unusual incidents without delay.
- Monitor cleaning supply levels and inform the supervisor when restocking is needed.
- Work collaboratively with housekeeping team members and maintain clear communication.

Requirements:
- Evening Shifts
- Have a friendly and outgoing personality
- Be enthusiastic and fully flexible (need to work 3 days over 7 day period,inclusive of weekends and holidays)
- Have strong communication skills
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Be legally eligible to work in Ireland
- Have the ability to handle busy situations and manage your workload effectively
