Purchaser & Inventory Specialist

Overview: Full-Time 8:00a - 4:30p Monday through Friday
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This position requires assisting in lifting residents in excess of 100 pounds occasionally with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 35 pounds or more. It requires sitting as an essential function with a significant degree of pushing and pulling of arms and/or legs. In a work day the employee must stand/walk 1-3 hours; sit 5-7 hours; must use hands for repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation; must be able to bend occasionally, kneel occasionally, twist frequently, reach and lift frequently, must be able to communicate on an intercom system and on the telephone; must be able to operate and/or work with office equipment and machines; nursing machinery and equipment; wearing protective clothing such as gown, mask, eye shield and gloves is an occasional function of this position; and frequent washing of hands is essential.

As required by HIPAA, all health information for residents and employees of Saint Anne Home to which you are privy, must be kept in strict confidence both during and after your employment.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Orders adequate medical supplies weekly. Discusses with DON. major or unusual supplies/purchases prior to purchase.
  • Ensures accurate charges for resident and house supplies.
  • Inventories supplies on floor/supply room monthly.
  • Downloads Hybrent weekly from each floor, checks for accuracy and corrects as needed.
  • Monitors/orders/inventories equipment after communicating with DON.
  • Be a team player and help with the Admission process and DME needed.
  • Monitor medical equipment charge outs
  • Monitor purchases and replacement of medical equipment to include mattresses, bed side mats, pressure relieving cushions, etc.
  • Replace all rehab mattresses annually and replace nursing home mattresses with replaced rehab mattresses
  • Train employees on billing system for resident supplies
  • Price check prior to purchasing
  • Work with maintenance on equipment that needs fixed
  • Order lab supplies
  • Responsible for preparing rooms with DME for new move ins and room moves
  • Ensure all requested DME and equipment medically necessary is provided to residents within 24 hours
  • Weekly Rounding Audits for appropriate placement of Air Mattresses with use of Paper chucks, Side Rails, Wheelchairs & Foot Pedals, and other items as necessary
  • Email work orders for anything in need of repair
  • Responsible for stocking the supplies for floor, Med room, and clean utility room
  • Ensure rooms are kept clean and orderly. If t hey are not first discuss with floor team, if issue persists discuss with DON
  • Complete weekly rounds of all resident rooms on Monday and Friday. Rounds are to be audited and given to DON weekly and are to include ensuring all residents have labeled:
  • Lotion, soap, deodorant, tooth brush, and tooth paste, etc.
  • 2 packages of briefs, 2 wipes, and 2 pads as necessary, etc.
  • Stock and clean covid supplies
  • Ensure covid storage room is kept orderly and clean
  • Attends all in services are required

OCCASIONAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Unpacks and stores supplies as they arrive.

2. Assist to dine with residents when necessary for breakfast and lunch.

3. Helps on the floor as directed by the Director of Nursing.

4. Attends training/in-services/seminars as requested by DON.

5. Performs all other related tasks as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING: Minimum High Scholl diploma and additional training in ICD9 coding preferred.

2. EXPERIENCE: One to two years in a long-term care facility preferred.

3. OTHER:

a. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, physicians, families and co-workers both verbally and in writing.

b. Ability to work as a team member.

c. Ability to take direction and follow through on issues until completion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
