Description:
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Purchasing Officer will support production by ensuring the timely, cost‑effective procurement of raw and packaging materials, working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers. Specifically, this role will:
Procure raw materials and packaging components (including labels) to meet quality, cost, quantity, and delivery requirements.
Maintain up-to-date awareness of production schedules and material demand.
Expedite and manage supplier deliveries to ensure continuity of production timelines.
Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding purchase requests, packaging specifications, and order status updates.
Review and report on purchase price variances on a weekly basis.
Assist in identifying, managing, and reducing obsolete or redundant raw and packaging materials.
Maintain accurate purchasing, packaging, and supplier records within established reporting systems.
Experience with packaging materials and label management would be highly beneficial.
Skills and Experiences:
To be successful in the role you will have:
Proven experience in a purchasing or supply role, ideally within manufacturing or FMCG.
Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong data and reporting skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective supplier and internal relationships.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
