QA Operative (Food Production)
4on 4off (B Shift), 06:00-18:00

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a QA Supervisor to join the team at our Riverside site.
The main purpose of this role is to provide support to the Technical Manager and QA Managers by assisting in the running of the QA team, ensuring that standards are maintained in line with external audit requirements. To support with customer complaint responses, reviewing and maintaining technical systems, statistical analysis and project work, as well as ensuring product is produced to high quality and customer standards and within safety, integrity and legality requirements.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Directly managing the site-based QAs, ensuring strong leadership and direction is provided to achieve and maintain a single vision for the technical team
- Supporting the QAs, providing training and development plans
- Building relationships with other departments including production to support a ‘single team’ approach
- Managing day to day issues with the production teams and ensuring appropriate actions are taken and documented where deviations from specified controls occur
- Providing production teams with effective trending of key data such as quality assessments so as to support continuous improvement
- Reviewing microbiological results and implementing appropriate recommendations where high counts are seen
- Assisting in new product trials and providing feedback of any key challenges early in the process
- Developing specific paperwork and procedures required for new products prior to launch
- Undertake such ad-hoc duties as maybe required to benefit the business
- Conducting label / process control audits every 1-2 hours to ensure records are being completed correctly and at the right times as well as raising and issues at the time
- Conducting temperature verification checks (including sterilizers, hand washing stations, product, environmental) at various stages of the process ensuring all results are recorded and any corrective actions are completed in a timely manner
- Ensure the timely collection of chemical, microbiological and organoleptic samples in line with current schedules
- Conducting calibration checks and record the results ensuring any corrective actions are communicated and closed out in a timely manner
- Conducting pre-operational hygiene inspections and report any failings immediately and ensure that corrective actions are completed
- Conducting GMP and fabrication audits to ensure any corrective actions required are communicated and completed in a timely manner
- Conducting daily canteen checks and ensure that any non –conformance are communicated and resolved in a timely manner
What We Look For:
- Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food related)
- Proven track record of managing teams
- Food Safety Level 3
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office) ideally with knowledge of FOPS, Innova & Traksys systems
