Are you passionate about food safety and quality assurance? Do you have an eye for detail and thrive in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for a QA Technician to join our team and play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of quality and safety in meat production.

Key Responsibilities
As a QA Technician, you will:
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Operational Control Points (OCPs).
- Oversee and record key metrics such as pH levels, product weights, MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging), and more.
- Perform in-house microbiological and pathogen testing to verify air and water quality.
- Ensure accurate labelling for primary and shipping containers, meeting Canadian and U.S. requirements.
- Conduct traceability checks and maintain records for product ingredients and materials on hold.
- Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment while interpreting data for fermentation, drying, and cooking processes.
- Collaborate with the production team to find "food safe" solutions that align with production goals.
- Perform shelf-life studies and verify packaging for leaks or inconsistencies.
- Support the team by completing pre-shipment reviews and ensuring all critical limits for CCPs are met.
Requirements for the position:
Education & Experience
- A post-secondary diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in the food or meat industry.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance practices, including 5 Why root cause analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and QA-related systems.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence others.
- Strong math skills for data tracking and reporting.

- A quick thinker who makes sound, food-safe decisions under pressure.
- Willing to adapt, learn, and grow in a dynamic environment.
Additional Requirements
- Availability for early hours, overtime, weekends, and split shifts as needed.
- Own reliable transportation is a must because the work location is not accessible by bus or transit.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$24.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
