Summary
We are looking for QC Analyst to perform routine chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical formulations, ensuring all analytical results and documentation are of high quality and are generated in a timely fashion, and complying with all aspects of GMP – as required by the Canadian Food and Drugs Act and supporting regulations. This includes but is not limited to the unique requirements required for pharmaceutical GMP compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform routine chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical/nutraceutical formulations in support of corporate development projects and/or production support.
- Ensure all analytical results and documentation are of high quality, generated in a timely fashion that comply with GMP regulations and data integrity traceability requirements.
- Perform testing in accordance with assigned protocols, methods or procedures.
- Review and prepare routine technical documents as directed.
- Plan and perform analytical tasks according to priorities.
- Report to the QC Laboratory Supervisor on test results, delays or problems.
- Critically review own data and recommend further action.
- Perform all tasks in accordance with local policies (e.g. chemical waste disposal) and SOPs.
- Performs other duties as requested by Senior Management.
Preferred Qualifications and/or Experiences:
- Some post-secondary (preferably university) in an applicable discipline of science (chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related) or specific medical training (pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, nutritional research or related).
- At least one year of laboratory experience with HPLC instrument.
- Advanced knowledge/understanding of GMP and the US FDA guidelines for manufacturing/packaging of pharmaceutical/nutraceutical products.
- Familiarity with other laboratory instruments (e.g. ICP, GC) considered an asset.
