Position: Quality Assurance Auditor

Type: Full Time/Permanent

Reporting to: Director of Safety Assurance

Essential Functions: The Flight Operations Auditor, within the Safety Assurance Department, assists with the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) program. The Safety Assurance Department collaborates with the Flight Operations management team to facilitate the periodic auditing of high-risk elements of flight operations, in order to identify emerging trends and proactively mitigate risks within the organization. The flight operations auditor will also assist in the analysis of flight monitoring data (FDM) as part of the FOQA program.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Program Auditing:

· Assist with or conduct periodic audits of the Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) program to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.

· Prepare audit reports, highlighting areas of non-compliance and suggesting improvements where appropriate.

· Stay informed of new regulations and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement of quality programs.

Risk Management:

· Conduct or assist with risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and evaluate risk mitigation strategies.

· Collaborate with the Flight Operations Department to incorporate emerging or recurring risks into targeted audit criteria.

· Monitor the effectiveness of existing risk barriers and adapt audit strategies in response to changes in the operational environment or emerging risks.

Data Management and Analytics:

· Facilitate tracking of all audits conducted including associated findings and corrective actions within the company software.

· Assist in collecting, analyzing, and managing the Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) data to identify trends and potential risks.

· Assist in maintaining the database of safety metrics and performance indicators related to flight operations.

· Present audit findings and data analysis trends to the management team on a periodic basis.

Document Control:

· Ensure that all quality assurance documentation is current, accessible, and complies with internal and regulatory requirements.

· Assist with document revision and approval processes, maintain accurate change records, and communicate updates effectively to relevant departments.

Training and Development:

· Help create and foster a positive safety culture within the organization through awareness campaigns and regular communication.

· Take part in personal development training courses facilitated by the organization.

Job Requirements:

· 3-years experience in either commercial aviation flight operations or maintenance operations in an oversite role. Equivalent combinations of education and experience in related safety oversight roles may also be considered.

· Accredited auditor training acceptable to organizational standards.

· Class 5 Drivers License.

· Valid passport and ability to travel to the United States is required for this position.

· Strong understanding of aviation SMS systems, quality assurance standards, aviation regulations (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA), and aviation safety best practices (IOGP, BARs, IAGSA, etc.).

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· Technical writing capability.

· Excellent organizational and document management skills.

· Accredited training in aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Assurance, or Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs is considered an asset.

· Accredited investigation training is considered an asset.

Working Conditions and Travel:

· Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

· Primary location: Corporate Office near Red Deer Regional Airport in Springbrook.

· Working environment: Mostly office environment.

· Occasional travel required for audits at base and field locations.
