Quality Control & Scale Operator (Dual-Role)
Glacial Aggregates Inc. is seeking a highly reliable and motivated individual to join our operations as a Dual-Role Quality Control & Scale Operator. This fast-paced position requires flexibility and a commitment to accuracy, serving as essential backup across our key locations in the Birds Hill and Stonewall areas.
This role is perfect for a self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment and is looking for a challenging, hands-on opportunity in a stable industry.
What You'll Be Doing:
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure operational efficiency and product quality across multiple sites.
- Trucking Scale Operations: Accurately operate the truck scale, weighing in and out aggregate loads. Process and record tickets promptly to support rapid customer service and inventory management.
- Quality Control (QC): Perform basic aggregate sampling and testing in the pit and quarry areas to ensure our product meets rigorous quality standards.
- Operational Backup: Fluently back up the primary staff at two separate locations, requiring you to adapt quickly to different site-specific procedures.
- Data Management: Utilize Microsoft Office and truck scale software to manage test results, tickets, and operational data.
- Site Support: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including general housekeeping and light maintenance duties.
What We're Looking For:
- Flexibility & Reliability: Ability to commute between our Birds Hill and Stonewall area locations as needed.
- Attention to Detail: Absolute accuracy in recording scale weights and performing QC tests.
- Physical Stamina: The role is hands-on, requiring physical ability to move around the site, handle samples, and work in varied weather conditions.
- Attitude: A positive, team-first attitude and a strong work ethic are non-negotiable.
Experience is a significant asset, particularly related to aggregate testing, scale operations, or the heavy construction/gravel industry. However, we provide comprehensive training for the right candidate who demonstrates the necessary ability and willingness to learn.
Why Join Glacial Aggregates?
We offer on-the-job training to ensure your success, a competitive wage, and a stable work environment with a company committed to safety and quality.
