Quality Manager

Panelto Foods is seeking to appoint a Quality Manager to lead the day-to-day Quality function on site. This is an important opportunity within a growing bakery business where quality plays a visible and highly valued role. The successful candidate will help safeguard food safety, compliance and product standards across the site, while working closely with production and technical colleagues in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

The Opportunity
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that food safety, compliance and quality standards are consistently achieved, while supporting production teams and maintaining robust quality systems. What the Role Involves
This role combines team leadership, technical oversight and close day-to-day collaboration with the wider site. You will lead the Quality Assurance team in its daily activities and work closely with production to support strong quality performance across the business.

Food safety, systems and compliance
A central part of the role is maintaining the systems that underpin food safety and compliance. This includes HACCP, TACCP and VACCP, as well as quality documentation, traceability and calibration systems. You will also support both internal and external audits, help ensure the site remains audit-ready, and ensure supplier compliance to agreed specifications.

Investigation and improvement
The position also has an important role in issue resolution and continuous improvement. You will manage customer complaints, support root cause investigations and contribute to initiatives that strengthen quality performance and consistency across the site.

Experience & Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with the experience, technical understanding and collaborative approach needed to lead quality standards effectively in this environment.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Food Science or a related discipline and will have experience in a Quality or QA role within food manufacturing. A sound working knowledge of HACCP, BRC and wider food safety systems is essential, together with good communication and organisational skills.

Just as importantly, this role requires someone who can work effectively across functions and build strong working relationships with production and technical teams. The ability to bring structure, consistency and practical support to a fast-moving manufacturing environment will be important to success in the position.
