Position Summary: The Quality Technician plays a critical role in maintaining product quality and process integrity by performing inspections, documenting products and materials, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. This role ensures compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Essential Functions:
- Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Document and report inspection results, including any deviations or non-conformances
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action investigations (CAPA)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records and inspection documentation.
- Support internal audits and participate in external audits as needed
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and engineering teams to troubleshoot quality issues and improve processes
- Monitor and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer requirements, and company policies
- Participate in training programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Lean, Six Sigma)
- Commute from the Hamden facility to the Cromwell facility as needed
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of inspection techniques, sampling plans, and quality systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Skills in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify trends, defects, and areas for improvement
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role in manufacturing or distribution
- Proficiency with measurement tools and basic statistical concepts
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems (Preferred)
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems (Preferred)
- Valid Driver's License
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs. unaided during inspections
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to type, bend, and reach
Environment:
- Mix of office and shop floor/warehouse environment
- Must be able to handle varying levels of stress
- Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, printers, fax machines, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:
- Quality assurance: 2 years (Required)
