Job Summary:

The Quarantine Technician will be responsible for performing day-to-day Quarantine Area quality tasks, ensuring product conformance. This role focuses on hands on inspection, sorting defective material, executing rework per quality standards, managing quarantine inventory and tagging processes, and maintaining 5S standards. Additionally, the Quarantine Technician will support testing operations by performing tube sample cutting for tensile testing and assisting with special quality projects as assigned by the Quality Manager or Quality Specialist.

Responsibilities:

· Perform visual and dimensional inspection of defective tubes and material in the quarantine area.

· Rework non-conforming materials according to established quality standards and engineering specifications.

· Sort and segregate non-conforming inventory, ensuring proper identification, tagging, and log entry.

· Maintain physical inventory control and organization within the quarantine area.

· Manage quarantine inventory and tag process.

· Maintain 5s in quarantine area.

· Work on other projects assigned by quality team.

· Safely operate sample-cutting equipment to prepare tube samples for tensile testing.

· Support continuous improvement and perform assigned quality department projects.

Qualifications:

Education:

· High School Diploma is required.

· One- or two-years certificate of Quality Assurance or Manufacturing from college or technical school is preferred

· Previous experience in a metal, tube, or heavy manufacturing facility is preferred.

Experience:

· At least 1 year of experience in a quality control, inspection, or manufacturing environment.

· Hands-on experience using basic measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).

Skills:

· Knowledge of standard work instructions, and quality specifications.

· Solid communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across shifts and departments.

· Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Excel, Word, or data entry systems for inventory and tracking).

· Familiarity with geometric tolerance concepts and the operation of gauges and test equipment.

· Ability to safely operate mechanical cutting tools/machinery and lift up to 15–35 lbs regularly.

· Forklift License

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
