This position reports to
R & D Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and execute tests on different products in various testing laboratories using standard testing methodologies and requirements. Each day, you will work independently by applying established standards, and instruct or coach other professionals. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring proper documentation of the test results. The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite This role is a key contribution to the creation and maintenance of power electronics products in Napier, New Zealand You will be mainly accountable for: •Managing a team of engineers and technicians, delivering lab testing in conjunction with the two local agile teams. •Hands on with power testing of components and products for verification and validation of designs, with complex test gear. •Responsibility for infrastructure improvements and expansion. •Working closely with agile teams for the definition of product test requirements. •Component engineering – finding alternate parts and defining qualification plans. •Prototyping of hardware test rigs. •Reliability engineering including HALT testing and FMEA. Our team dynamics: You'll be part of a laboratory organization supporting the product designers applying power electronics building blocks in the design of Power Electronics Products, with high quality and reliability, meeting international standards, delighting our customers with innovation and performance.
Qualifications for the role
- You enjoy working with power electronics products and technologies and the electrical systems market.
- You have 5 years of experience in electrical/electronic engineering.
- Highly adept in electrical-electronics testing and, PLCs, NI LabView. Possess an enhanced knowledge of 3 phase systems, UPS, Energy Storage Systems, Variable Speed Drives.
- You are innovative around problem-solving and debugging.
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Knowledge of international standards for safety, preferably IEC and UL.
- You are at ease communicating in English
