The Laboratory Support position contributes to the development of new pharmaceutical dosage forms. This will be achieved by supporting the Analytical Development team by performing activities such as cleaning of glassware, cleaning of all areas in the analytical lab, disposal of organic, acid and general waste while maintaining a neat and orderly work environment in the lab. The Laboratory Support Analytical Development also works very closely with the Chemists and Scientists to ensure stock of all type of glassware are available and ready for use at all times.

Key job responsibilities and duties:

  • Responsible for collecting, cleaning and re-stocking glassware and other re-usable lab equipment that requires the usage of the glassware in the analytical laboratory. Ensuring stock of all type of glassware are available for AD personnel to conduct their work
  • Responsible for organizing the Analytical laboratory cleaning room area
  • Responsible for cleaning the work benches, floors and all areas of the analytical laboratory.
  • Responsible for waste disposal in the analytical laboratory.
  • Responsible for notifying Management of occurring deficiencies or needs to repair to ensure clean glassware is available at all times
  • Responsible for following all work and safety practices as per CCOSH
  • Performs all activities following the principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing practices (cGMP), and according to Biolab’s documented procedures, policies and safety standards
  • Performs other activities to ensure cleanliness of the analytical laboratory
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and experience requirements:

  • Canadian high school diploma or equivalent.
  • More than 1+ years of relevant hands-on chemistry laboratory experience preferable.
  • Ability to work independently after being given clear instructions or as a part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Intermediate level with the use of MS office software.
  • Highly motivated and have the skills to handle multiple activities and prioritize the work.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills are required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $38,000.00 per year
