We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Paralegal to join our tax certiorari litigation department. Our firm represents commercial and residential property owners in real property tax assessment challenges throughout New York City. This role is heavily litigation-focused and supports attorneys in administrative proceedings before the NYC Tax Commission and in Article 7 proceedings before the New York Supreme Court.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all phases of real property tax certiorari matters, from protest filing through settlement or trial
- Prepare, organize, and file documents with the NYC Tax Commission, Law Department, and New York Supreme Court
- Draft and assemble pleadings, petitions, affidavits, stipulations, and settlement documents
- Track statutory deadlines, filing windows, and court calendars for multiple tax years and properties
- Maintain and organize case files, including property records, valuation materials, and correspondence
- Coordinate service of process and monitor responses from opposing counsel and City agencies
- Assist with discovery, document production, exhibits, and trial preparation
- Communicate with courts, City agencies, clients, and internal staff regarding case status and requirements
- Update internal tracking systems and ensure matters progress through each litigation stage to completion
Qualifications
- Paralegal litigation experience preferred.
- Familiarity with NYSCEF, , and litigation workflows a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a high volume of matters across multiple tax years
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel

Pay: $52,000.00 per year
