About Us

The Erris Coast Hotel is a beautiful seaside hotel located along the stunning Wild Atlantic Way in County Mayo. Known for our warm hospitality, exceptional dining, and breathtaking coastal views, we pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding guest experience from the moment of arrival. We are now looking for a talented and enthusiastic Receptionist to join our Front Office team.

The Role

As Receptionist at the Erris Coast Hotel, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring every visitor receives a warm welcome and a seamless check-in and check-out experience. You will play a key role in setting the tone for our guests' stay, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the front office.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about hospitality and takes pride in creating memorable first impressions.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide a warm, professional welcome to all guests on arrival and throughout their stay.

· Manage check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.

· Handle guest reservations via phone, email, and online booking systems.

· Respond to guest enquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

· Process payments, invoices, and manage cash handling procedures.

· Liaise with housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage teams to ensure guest needs are met.

· Manage room allocations, special requests, and VIP guest requirements.

· Maintain accurate guest records and ensure data protection compliance.

· Provide local area information and recommendations to guests, including activities, dining, and attractions along the Wild Atlantic Way.

· Assist with group bookings, weddings, and event coordination as required.

· Carry out general administrative duties to support the Front Office Manager.

What We're Looking For

· Previous experience in a hotel reception or front office role is desirable but not essential.

· A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering excellent customer service.

· Warm, friendly, and professional manner with outstanding interpersonal skills.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Proficiency in hotel property management systems (e.g. Opera, Hotsoft, or similar) is an advantage.

· Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.

· Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a busy environment.

· Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.

· IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

· A second language is an advantage but not essential.
