South Peel Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full time receptionist / animal care attendant to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team of receptionists, animal care attendants, technicians and veterinarians. This is a full time permanent position.

Reception duties include answering the telephone, greeting clients and their pets, preparing and processing invoices and booking appointments. When working shifts as an animal care attendant duties will include restraining animals, assisting the technician or veterinarian as directed by them, laundry and housekeeping. Shifts will include weekdays until approximately 6:30 pm and some Saturday mornings. Receptionist and animal care attendant shifts will be split about equally. The hours are spread over 4 days most weeks, usually giving each staff member 3 days off each week. Schedules vary from week to week depending upon hospital and staff personal needs.

The ideal candidate will be warm, friendly, work well as a team member, have a good sense of humour and enjoy working with both animals and people. Although experience is valuable we are happy to train the right candidate. A university degree is an asset but not required. This position is an ideal stepping stone for someone interested in pursuing a career as a veterinary technician or a veterinarian. Several previous staff members have gone on to graduate as either a registered veterinary technician or veterinarian.
