Purpose of Position:
To effectively provide receptionist and administrative support to the Nursing Home & Head Office and enhance the smooth effective operation of the home from an administrative perspective. Relief Position Available
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Meet and greet all visitors in a pleasant and welcoming manner.
- Answer all phone calls and record messages correctly and provide messages (written & email) for Home Manager left in their office before he/she commences work the following morning.
- To direct visitors and/or authorised workmen to the appropriate area(s) as requested.
- Ensure all windows are secured before leaving the building (Reception/Activity Room/ Training Room)
- Ensure Lift Room and Communications Room doors are locked (Occasionally maintenance will take place in the evenings).
Occupancy & Marketing
- To answer Enquiries
- To Assist with Visitor tours
- To assist the home manager by arranging teas and coffee
- Maintain Chiropody cards and updating Healthcare System
- Resident Surveys, checking all received, sorting and leaving ready for the administrator to send to the support office.
- To assist with general administrative duties as requested by the home manager or senior administrator.

Role Requirements
Personal Hygiene and appearance
- Polished appearance
- Professional attire
- To be familiar with and follow the standards stipulated.
- Wear minimal make-up and fragrance. No jewelry with the exception of a plain (no stones) wedding band.
- Ensure any cuts / broken skin is covered with blue, waterproof dressings.
- Ensure thorough and frequent handwashing.
Eligibility criteria/ Qualifications and/or experience
Qualifications:
- QQI Level 5 qualification as a medical receptionist or
- Diploma in Administration or relevant discipline or
- Diploma in communications or business.
Essential Criteria:
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office and typing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized and resourceful.
- Customer-focused.
- Active listener.
- Flexibility/adaptability
- Excellent written /numerical/analytical skills
- Strong IT Skills
- Highly organised
