Job Type: Fulltime Fixed-Term (12 months)
Overview of role:
This role plays a critical part in managing the lifecycle of organisational records—both physical and digital—ensuring compliance, accessibility, and security across the business.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate records systems, supporting digitisation initiatives, and helping drive continuous improvement in information governance practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Records Management Officer, you’ll be accountable for:
Manage physical records including storage, cataloguing, transfer, and secure destruction
Support digitisation projects, ensuring accurate metadata and quality control
Assist with records system (RMS) implementation, testing, and user support
Provide timely file retrieval services and guidance to staff
Maintain compliance with legislative requirements (e.g. Public Records Act)
Contribute to records clean-up, governance initiatives, and audit readiness
Undertake manual handling tasks, including moving physical records and storage boxes within archives and storage areas
About you:
You’re organised, detail-focused, and enjoy working both independently and collaboratively. You bring:
Experience in records or information management (2–3+ years preferred)
Strong understanding of records lifecycle, retention schedules, and compliance
Familiarity with Records Management Systems and Microsoft 365
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
Qualifications in Records/Information Management (or equivalent experience) will be highly regarded.Sound like you? We’d love to hear from you.

Salary:
The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 2 $62,475 - $72,897 plus super superannuation salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
