Role Introduction:
The AA is seeking to recruit an interim Recovery Team Leader for Dublin to support the Recovery Operations Manager in providing best in class customer service to our AA Members and Customers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out performance management of the Recovery Drivers Force, carrying out 1-2-1’s to ensure key metrics are met and ensuring any Recovery driver related issues are dealt with in a timely manner. Will also assist with Recovery driver headcount and annual leave allocation. Carry out recoveries in line with Road operational demand. Service delivery to Members is a key dimension, with team availability, response times etc., being vitally important to the operation of the service provided. Process improvement ideas are a core dimension to this role.
The role will be based primarily in the AA Rescue Operations Centre, but duties will be split between recoveries and Team Leader duties. At times will be required to travel to meet Recovery drivers and to meet with Recovery Operations Manager. Travelling to/from external meetings will also be required. Specific tasks within the role may be time dependent and require flexibility with working hours to be performed satisfactorily. Assist in other areas as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
As the AA business continues to evolve, so too will the responsibilities of this role evolve and change over time. The primary responsibilities and focus areas for this role will include the following:
- Carry out Recovery requests as directed by Rescue Centre as part of normal duties, to include breakdown’s and Patrol assistance.
- Carry out Patrol performance management, 1-2-1’s and ensure KPI’s are met.
- Assist the Recovery drivers and Rescue Centre on critical decisions and maintaining a high service level to the Members.
- Assisting the Operations Manager with area specific contribution to improve Patrol engagement and Member experience.
- Truck and equipment checks, driver compliance checks and capability assessments.
- Shift changeover assistance to ensure smooth transition of trucks and drivers.
The Candidate should have the following:
Minimum qualifications, experience & skills -
- Qualified HGV driver with C license minimum, CE preferable.
- Up to date CPC card and tacho card.
- In depth knowledge of tachograph compliance and usage.
- Incident, near miss and accident reporting.
- A strong background in the motor industry, preferably within a recovery environment.
- An enthusiastic approach to motivate employees and ensure Recovery driver moral is kept to a high level where applicable.
- Knowledge of LOLER, PAS43 and RIES standards a benefit.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to lead by example.
- Excellent knowledge of all AA recovery procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of the motor trade.
- Excellent communication & problem-solving skills.
- Engagement skills using own initiative.
- Ability to engage with Recovery drivers to manage performance impartially.
- Computer courses and managerial/supervisory experiences helpful, but not essential.
- Role specific training (provided).
