Our Village at University Gates, located in Waterloo, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for an Unscheduled Part Time RECREATION TEAM MEMEBER to join their team.
Shift Details :
- Unscheduled Part Time
- The hiring rate for this role is $19.81/hour per collective agreement/employee association agreement.
- Expected Start date: July, 2026

As a new Recreation Team Member, you will:
- Have experience working with the geriatric population
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
- Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture.
- Work as key member of our Village and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents’ individual needs,
- Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic services
- Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
It would be an asset if our new Recreation Team Members has:
- Enrolled in or completed a diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university is an asset
- Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 and Health & Safety
- Experience working with people living with dementia
