This position will work closely with the Enrolment Services team to ensure a seamless experience for prospective students while fostering relationships with key Indigenous communities and stakeholders. Guided by principles of integrity, shared responsibility, consistency, and collaboration, the REO will play a critical role in enhancing NVIT’s presence in the community while supporting learners' aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Increase Awareness: Drive efforts to increase awareness of NVIT’s educational opportunities across the province, emphasizing on-campus and off-campus programs through strategic recruitment activities and community engagement.
- Recruitment Activities: Provide support to the Associate Registrar, Burnaby Campus to coordinate the recruitment activities across all NVIT campuses, ensuring alignment with recruitment goals and providing targeted outreach to potential students.
- Represent NVIT at key recruitment events, including career fairs, high schools, trade shows, and other promotional events within Indigenous communities and broader educational settings.
- Alumni Engagement: Engage with alumni to incorporate their experiences to inspire prospective students and strengthen the NVIT community.
- Build Relationships with Community Partners: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and educational institutions (K-12 and post-secondary) to facilitate student recruitment and support. Host recruitment events and activities in collaboration with these partners both on-campus and off-campus.
- Internal & External Communications: Effectively communicate details of upcoming recruitment events, campus activities, and initiatives to both the internal NVIT community and external stakeholders.
- Support NVIT Events: Assist in the planning and hosting of recruitment-focused and NVIT events on the Burnaby campus, such as Graduation, career fairs, campus tours, and student orientation sessions. Collaboration with the Burnaby Campus Student Society would occur at peak times during the year (e.g. Christmas Party, AGM, and other initiatives).
- Provide coverage for the Recruitment, Admissions, and Registration Officer (RARO) and other Enrolment Services Staff during periods of absence or peak workload, ensuring continuity of services.
