- 10+ years of relevant work experience in strategic procurement roles in a diverse and international environment
- 4+ years of experience managing professional services categories and managing a regional or global procurement team.
- Demonstrated understanding of contracts and experience negotiating complex agreements with suppliers of critical importance to the business.

We are seeking an experienced, highly creative, results-driven and forward-thinking procurement leader to join our Data Center Sourcing and Procurement (DCSP) team. As the Regional Manager of Professional Services procurement for APJC, you will lead the regional procurement category team supporting the Data Center Planning, Deliver and Engineering organizations.
Your team will be responsible for establishing and implementing robust procurement strategies for their respective categories. You will be responsible for holding them accountable as they deliver their initiatives while navigating them through key strategy shifts, as necessary. It will be critical that you identify new ways to forge partnerships with our supply base to achieve long-term, mutually beneficial outcomes. You will also ensure that the team can appropriately scale as the business grows, and you must be proactive in identifying ways to stay ahead of this curve.
As the regional manager, you must embody and model the team’s mission, which is to be laser focused on the needs of customers, empowering them so they can have a more significant impact in their roles. The team serves the best interest of Amazon by engaging in ethical, transparent and professional transactions and takes ownership of procurement functions to increase high quality competition, promote supplier diversity, and elevate supplier performance.
Key job responsibilities
- Build, lead and develop a diverse regional team to ensure the timely procurement of professional services at the highest quality and most competitive cost
- Set the strategic direction for your team including annual goals and objectives covering on-time delivery, quality, cost, safety, security, and sustainability
- Drive your team to establish and implement robust procurement strategies for their respective categories that are fully aligned with business objectives
- Hold your team accountable as they deliver against their respective strategies
- Serve as a key procurement business partner and central point of escalation, working directly with suppliers and internal stakeholders to remove blockers and to deliver results for the business
- Lead negotiations with selected partners to establish strategic frameworks that help scale the business efficiently
- Establish and drive a culture of continuous improvement in your team, always trying to identify and realize opportunities that increase the value proposition of our suppliers to the business
- Develop, monitor, and report on internal metrics, goals, and key performance indicators to procurement stakeholders and senior management
- Manage the performance of external vendors that are part of your portfolio with a view to continuously raise the quality and reliability of their delivery
- Monitor supplier compliance with controls and systems, and develop new processes to support the fast-growing, global AWS business

- Master’s degree in business administration, commerce, procurement and supply-chain management or relevant discipline from an accredited university.
- Experience in data center CAPEX procurement
- Proven track record of establishing, developing and scaling high performing procurement teams in an international environment, specifically across jurisdictions in APJC
