RBT Opening – Veterans Park School (School-Based Case)
Client: 8-year-old girl
Location: Veterans Park School
Hours: 8:00am–2:00pm or 7:30am-1:30pm
Setting: Mainstream classroom
Start: ASAP
Case Overview
Sweet, verbal 8-year-old with ASD. Capable and intelligent, with strong interests in animals and dragons. No aggression or SIB.
Primary behaviors:
- Escape-maintained refusal (“I said no,” “I can’t do it”)
- Shutdown behavior
- Some rigidity around preferences
This is a low-intensity case — ideal for someone patient and relationship-focused.
Clinical Focus
- Functional Communication Training (requesting breaks/help appropriately)
- Premack Principle
- Visual schedules & timers
- Transition support
- Building flexibility
- Avoiding power struggles
Looking for someone who:
- Can stay neutral and supportive
- Is comfortable in a school setting
- Is collaborative (family works closely with school, ABA staff and developmental specialist)
Ideal Fit
- Female RBT
- English-speaking
- Patient, warm, and steady
- Comfortable in mainstream classroom
- Good at pairing and reinforcement-based strategies
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
