Registered Midwife For Maternity, Quality And Safety Programme

Maternity Services– Timaru Hospital

Fixed Term, Part Time, 0.4 FTE 32 Hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday.

About the Role

The role is based within the Quality and Safety team and reports to the Interim Associate Director of Operations, Hospital and Specialist Services South Canterbury and is responsible for supporting the maternity clinical quality and safety programme and to provide focus for quality improvements in maternity services.

The person in this role is responsible for utilising contemporary quality and risk management knowledge and practices to ensure that managers and staff have access to quality and risk management tools and techniques to assist them in decision making and the integration of quality improvement and risk management into service delivery.

About you

The successful candidate will be

  • NZ Fully Qualified Registered Midwife with a current APC and extensive clinical experience
  • Excellent data analysis and report writing skills and must haveMicrosoft skills and advanced excel proficiency
  • Desirable that they be working towards a post graduate qualification such as quality or risk management
  • Have a working knowledge of Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Sector Standards.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the MERAS collective, and the salary will be in accordance with the Pay Scale, and dependent on relevant experience.
