About Us
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we deliver a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Regions.
Bring exceptional Midwifery care into the home and make a difference from the very beginning. Nepean Hospital is seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Midwife to join our Midwifery at Home team.
Midwifery at Home provides an opportunity to deliver high-quality, woman-centred care beyond the hospital environment, supporting women and their families during the important transition from hospital to home. This role allows you to build trusting relationships with women and families while providing personalised care during the postnatal period and early days of parenthood.
As a Registered Midwife in Midwifery at Home, you will provide safe, evidence-based Midwifery care to women and newborns in their own homes. You will play an important role in supporting women to feel confident and empowered as they adjust to life with a new baby. This is a role that will see you provide comprehensive postnatal and newborn assessments in the home environment, support breastfeeding, feeding and parenting confidence, monitor maternal and newborn wellbeing and identifying potential concerns early, provide education, information and emotional support to women and their families whilst promoting continuity, choice and woman-centred care.
The transition from hospital to home is a significant time for women and families. Your support can make this transition safer, more positive and less overwhelming. As a Midwife at Home, you will have the opportunity to see women in their own environment, understand their individual needs and provide care that is tailored to their circumstances. The relationships you build, the education you provide and the reassurance you offer can have a lasting impact on a family's experience of early parenthood.
If you are a Midwife who values connection, continuity, clinical excellence and teamwork, we invite you to join the Midwifery at Home team at Nepean Hospital.
