Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.- Benefits Eligible: Yes
- Shift Details: Full time (36 budgeted hours). F ull time 36-40 hours per week Monday-Friday.
- Unit/Location: Butte Orthopedics (Butte, MT)
- Additional Details: The position will be responsible for clinic triage, assisting with pre-operative patient appointments and post operative patient phone calls. Providing patient education for Total Joint patient education classes.
Scope
1.Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
2. Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.
3. Obtains and documents health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses disease condition.
4. Provides patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.
5. Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response. Refer to/consult with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.
6. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
7. Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
8. Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
9. Tracks quality assurance data and monitor for acute and chronic care management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required
- Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board is required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) is required One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting is required

2. Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure, and functions; and community resources. Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies. Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures.
3. Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients.
4. Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.
5. Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients.
6. Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
7. Critical thinking skills within scope of practice population health management and improvement of patient outcomes.
Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.Location:
