About the Role

Hauora a Toi – Bay of Plenty are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse – Clinical Coach to provide direct clinical guidance and support to graduate nurses during their first year of practice. Working under the guidance of the Nurse Coordinator, NETP (Nurse Entry to Practice) Programme, you will mentor and assist graduate nurses and their preceptors across various settings, including primary health care and aged residental care.

This permanent part-time role (working 20 hours per week) is integral to ensuring the safe and effective development of our nursing workforce. You will draw on your expertise to help graduate nurses transition into practice, promomoting compassionate and patient-centered care for patients, and whānau throughout the Bay of Plenty.

Working across the Bay of Plenty region, you will be working in a district known for its vibrant community and stunning landscapes. Whether you are supporting graduates in urban primary health care settings or the residential aged care sector, you will play a pivotal role in building a strong, capable nursing workforce.

About you

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse with a passion for mentoring and workforce development. Your ability to provide guidance, share knowledge, and inspire confidence makes you an ideal candidate for this role.

  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate with recent and varied clinical nursing experience.
  • Minimum Proficient Development and Recognition Prgramme (PDRP).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to safe and compassionate patient care.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
