Job Overview

A community hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its float pool. This role involves providing care across multiple units, requiring adaptability and strong clinical skills. The position is responsible for patient care interventions, documentation, and communication, as well as leading and mentoring other staff members.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of patient care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care.
• Evaluate and provide education to patients and families.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Determine, coordinate, and supervise daily staffing assignments.
• Provide direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
• Handle and resolve complex issues and complaints.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Current RN license to practice in Kentucky.
• BCLS certification.
• ACLS and PALS certifications per unit-specific requirements.
• National certification within one year of hire.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
