Registered Nurse - Gynaecology Ward & Assessment Unit

  • Permanent part time 0.6FTE (48 hours per fortnight)

About the role

The Gynaecology Service situated at Christchurch Women’s Hospital is a world class facility that delivers excellent healthcare to women.

In this role you will work across our Gynae Ward and Gynae Assessment Unit (GAU).

We are a 27 bed ward, specialising in gynae medical, surgical and oncology surgical patients, a 5 bed assessment unit for both acute and planned admissions including an Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) nurse led clinic.

This wide-ranging workplace ensures there is never a dull moment, your scope of practice is extensive, and you will develop a broad range of skills.

About You

We are looking for a passionate Registered Nurse to work as part of our multidisciplinary team providing all facets of care to women.

You will have excellent time management skills, with the ability to efficiently and effectively complete tasks, whilst working collaboratively as part of a team.

Your effective interpersonal and communication skills coupled with being able to work in an empathetic non-judgemental manner, will be imperative to your success in this role.

Skills

  • Ideally you will have experience working in women’s health, including contraception knowledge.
  • Experience in surgical or acute nursing and venepuncture or equivalent is essential (Current or recent NZ 1-2 years)
  • Registration & APC essential
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Obstetrics experience welcome

The Gynaecology Service is open Monday to Sunday and you will work as part of a rotating roster.

You will be provided a comprehensive orientation package to all areas within our service.
