Registered Nurse – Older Persons Mental Health (Ward Ag)

About the Role

Ward AG is part of Older Persons Mental Health, based at Burwood Hospital. The team is on the lookout for an experienced nurse to work part-time 0.4FTE two days a week until September 2025.

About you

You will be a confident Registered Nurse with exceptional patient assessment skills and a current NZ practising certificate. Enthusiastic, motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage a wide variety of people, is paramount in this role. Experience working around Mental Health preferred, however not essential.

• Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
  

• Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Skills and Experience

Desirable skills for this position are:

• Initiative, solution focused with excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks.
• Psychiatric or comprehensive experience preferred.
• Motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to engage people at all levels.
