About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Mental Health Team at Taranaki Base Hospital.
Are you interested in working with adults experiencing psychological distress – making a difference in their lives and future wellbeing? Do you have a passion for mental health nursing and supporting clients through their recovery process.
Key aspects of this role are:
- Completing mental state assessments.
- Therapeutic engagement to promote recovery.
- Supporting medication and physical health management.

About you
Successful candidates must have:
- Acute mental health inpatient experience.
- Well established mental state and risk assessment skills.
- Experience using talking therapy techniques and proven de-escalation skills.
- A valid Annual Practicing Certificate with Nursing Council of New Zealand.
