About the Role
We are looking for an energetic and empathetic Registered Nurse to work within Thames Hospital’s Emergency Department. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in Emergency care although we are willing to train the right person. This is a part time position and the successful candidate must be available to work all rostered shifts.

About Thames
Thames Hospital is a modern 50-bed secondary care facility offering a comprehensive range of services, including an emergency department, inpatient care, day surgery, an infusion unit, rehabilitation services, birthing unit and low-acuity mental health care. Our hospital boasts 24-hour laboratory and radiology services, including advanced CT imaging. As an accredited training hub, we support 5th and 6th-year medical students from Auckland University, PGY2 House Officers, and registrars in Rural Hospital Medicine and General and Acute Care Medicine. We offer a robust quality improvement program, CME opportunities, and an RMO teaching program. Telehealth is expanding at Thames, supporting inpatient care, outpatient clinics, and emergency services like stroke thrombolysis.

About you
As a Registered Nurse, you will need the following skills and experience to be considered for this role:
- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand; inclusive of scope of practice
- A current practising certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
- Expected to meet a competent level of practice on the Professional Development and Recognition Programme, but may achieve a higher level of practice
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
