Job Description

Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Summary:

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders. They work under the supervision of physicians to provide respiratory care services in a variety of healthcare settings.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Perform diagnostic testing to evaluate patients' lung function

2. Develop and implement respiratory therapy treatment plans

3. Monitor and administer oxygen therapy

4. Educate patients on proper breathing techniques and use of respiratory equipment

5. Respond to emergency situations involving respiratory distress

6. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care

8. Stay up-to-date on advancements in respiratory therapy techniques and equipment

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program

2. Current RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

3. State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist

4. BLS and ACLS certifications

5. Strong knowledge of respiratory anatomy and physiology

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment

8. Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
