What You’ll Do:
- Assist veterinarians in exams, procedures, and surgeries
- Perform diagnostics, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring
- Provide compassionate patient care and client education
- Maintain accurate medical records and hospital efficiency
What We’re Looking For:
- Licensed RVT (or experienced student eligible for certification in Ohio)
- Passion for animal care and teamwork
- Strong technical skills & a positive attitude
- Ability to answer medical questions from client calls and visits
- Ability to lead a team of assistants effectively and efficiently
- Well organized, prompt, and detail-oriented
- Ability to prioritize and work independently
- Ability to stand for extensive period of time, restrain large dogs, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in the patient records accurately with appropriate grammar, terminology, and accurate information
- Ability to give SQ, IM, and IV injections, place catheters, and draw blood.
- Knowledge of common anesthesia and recovery states and ability to alert veterinarians when symptoms change or when concerns arise with hospitalized patients
- Ability to properly extubate, monitor temperature and recover patients from anesthesia
- Employee must be confident around pets and willing to work with all species of pet animals.
