Location: Victoria, BC
Schedule: This position is full-time, with a rotating weekday schedule. Shifts may range from 8-10 hours, 4-5 days per week.
Compensation: $19.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills
Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our Specialty team!
This role will work closely with our Specialty and Anesthesia departments to provide excellent care to patients requiring these services. The successful candidate will possess exceptional patient care and technical skills (including anesthesia). You will have opportunities to expand your learning through extensive exposure and involvement in cases with various degrees of complexity; you will also have a board-certified anesthesiologist available to weigh in on protocols and procedures.
Previous experience in a specialty role would be an asset but is not required.
Registered Veterinary Technician or eligible to register
Perform clinical procedures; venipuncture, Catheter placement, radiology, surgical prep, anesthesia monitoring and patient assessment
Willing to enhance technical skills; anesthesia, mechanical ventilators
Ability to thrive in a steady and often fast paced environment
Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents
Proven ability to keep accurate patient records
Strong ability to problem-solve
