We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that’s energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently – we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it and mend it.
About your team:
At Centrica Energy, our mission is to move it.
We’re energy movers by nature. We’re a global renewable energy trading company which helps move energy from source to use – powering businesses, homes, and societies as they transition to a new sustainable energy future. If the idea of working to create a sustainable energy future also moves you, we may very well be the right place for you.
Centrica Energy is strengthening its regulatory capability to support the rapid growth of renewable power, trading and optimisation activities across the Nordics and Baltics. The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will play a key role in shaping policy and regulatory outcomes that enable competitive, compliant and value‑creating participation in evolving electricity markets.
The role sits at the intersection of regulation, commercial strategy and market design, supporting trading, origination, asset management and business development teams with timely and practical regulatory insight. It offers the opportunity to influence national and European regulatory developments while contributing directly to the energy transition and net‑zero ambitions
About the Role
This role provides forward‑looking regulatory and policy support across power trading, renewable asset management and optimisation activities in the Nordics and Baltics. The Regulatory Affairs Specialist works closely with commercial teams to interpret complex market frameworks and translate regulatory change into clear, actionable insight. The position combines deep regulatory analysis with active stakeholder engagement to support strategic decision‑making and long‑term growth.
Key responsibilities include:
Monitoring and analysing national and European regulatory developments affecting electricity markets, market design, balancing regimes and ancillary services.
Interpreting regulatory change and communicating implications, risks and opportunities clearly to trading, origination, asset management and business development teams.
Developing, aligning and advocating policy and lobbying positions in collaboration with internal stakeholders across multiple business areas.
Leading and coordinating responses to consultations issued by governments, regulators, TSOs and other statutory bodies.
Proactively engaging to influence market rules in electricity balancing and wholesale markets where commercial or strategic impact is identified.
Completing regulatory due diligence for new transactions, market entries, assets and business cases.
Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators, system operators, exchanges and industry bodies.
Representing Centrica Energy in industry forums, working groups and panels, contributing to consensus‑building and regulatory outcomes.
About You
The ideal candidate is a regulatory professional with strong analytical capability and a deep understanding of electricity markets and energy policy frameworks. They are comfortable operating in complex, fast‑moving environments and can balance strategic thinking with practical execution.
This individual builds trust with senior stakeholders, contributes constructively across teams and uses influence to deliver commercially meaningful regulatory outcomes.
The ideal candidate will bring:
A strong regulatory, legal, economic or technical qualification and relevant experience in the energy, commodities or financial sector.
Proven experience engaging with regulators, TSOs, exchanges or governments to influence regulatory change.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
Strong analytical, conceptual and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to manage uncertainty and ambiguity.
Fluency in English and Danish; additional European languages are an advantage.
